Here’s a brief list of some events that I know I’ll attend. So, if you’re there, drop by and say hi!
- Nimrod International Journal’s Conference for Readers and Writers: Oct. 23rd, 2010 at The University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is an all-day writing workshop with classes in fantasy, poetry, general fiction, memoir, and more, along with one-on-one editing sessions, panel discussions, and readings. YA fantasy writer Rosemary Clement-Moore, author of The Splendor Falls and the Maggie Quinn: Girl vs. Evil novels, will run our fantasy session (I’ve seen her give classes before and she is awesome). Also on the guest list are National Book Award-winner Colum McCann, Oprah Book Club author David Wroblewski, and poets Molly Peacock and Jim Barnes, as well as over 30 other writers and editors. People of all ages attend, from high schoolers to seniors, and we have a great time. I’ll be managing the conference, so look for me around the regisrtation table and don’t mind the slightly harried look in my eyes.
- The Association of Writers and Writing Program’s annual conference, this year in Washington, DC: Febuary 2nd-5th, 2011. As usual, I’ll be running Nimrod’s book table, so drop by to snag a free journal or just to chat!
