News

  • I published a new YA story called “Ice Moon Tale” with Abyss and Apex. “Ice Moon Tale” tells the story of Laila, who possesses shadow magic. She’d rather have ice moon magic–the magic to find and tell stories.
  • Another new story up–”Waiting” with Strange Horizons on May 31. I’m so pleased to having a story out with them, and particularly this story, which hung around in my head for about two years before finally consenting to actually getting written.
  • A new story of mine, “The Sleeper,” is now out with Lady Churchill’s Rosebud Wristlet, issue No. 25. It’s the first time I’ve been in LCRW, and I’m super-excited! The magazine looks great, and there are several other really nifty stories in this issue.
  • An interview I did with Julie at Manga Maniac Cafe is now up. We talk about my upcoming novel, The False Princess, writing, publishing, and more.
  • You can now read my new YA short story, “The Wing Collection,” at Fantasy Magazine. Emily’s not sure what to make of her bookish cousin Jeffrey, who’s been left at her house by his unreliable mother. When they find a shop of wings–all sorts of wings, all without bodies–magic that might help Jeffrey locate his mother enters their lives. Locus reviewer Rich Horton calls “The Wing Collection” “a moving story with an evocative central image.” You can also read an interview about “The Wing Collection.”
